Bullfrog, Coppertone, Banana Boat

All perfectly good sunblocks that I, did not use. I usually never burn but while watching the Shamu Show (more on that in a later post) at Sea World in San Diego, I could feel my skin sizzling.

I'd make a great sunblock billboard on why you should ALWAYS wear it!

Ignore the hair. When I got home, I felt the burn, literally. And I didn't want anything touching my skin. You're lucky I'm wearing a towel.

So Far

If last night is any indication on how my new year is going to go, I'll pass.

We retired early. Sean was just plain tired and I was ready for my birthday to begin. At about 10:34pm (to be exact) our house alarm went off. Better yet, our house alarm was freakin' blaring. It scared the crap out of me.

Once I realized what was happening, I turned to get out of bed and saw Sean scrunched down at my bedside. At the time, I knew exactly what he was doing. And then I heard the "click, click". Confirmation that he had retrieved our weapon and was ready to blast any mofo that dare enter our home.

I stood there, shaking like a leaf, for the few seconds it took Sean to clear the house. (What a great hubby. SWAT would be lucky to have him on their team. Except for the slipping part, I'll get to that later.) While waiting, I had 911 dialed in my phone and was ready to push send on the Hubs' call. I switched the bedroom light on and stayed put.

I didn't want to be mistaken for an intruder and have a bullet in my ass for my brithday.

We determined that the entry door from the garage to the house was left unlocked. It was so windy here last night that it blew hard enough to come through the garage, push the door open, and trip the alarm. Sean closed and locked the door, reset the alarm, secured the weapon, and we were off to dreamland again.

This morning.

Sean and I woke and discussed last nights adventure. I had just fallen asleep when the alarm went off and he was in the middle of a dream that already had him on high alert.

He then said, "Did you see me slip?" "What?", I said. "Last night I rolled out of bed and ran around it to get the gun. But before I got there it was like I hit a patch of ice and I just slipped and fell on my ass." LMAO!! Damn! I missed that part.


My hubby, the Hero.


So far today...

- I've treated a headache from yesterday, that turned into a migraine after last night.

- I've requested a massage for the major pain in my neck. And no, I'm not talking about the kids this time. It's a real pain, surely from last nights stress and the equal need of a new pillow.

- I finished a wholesale order that was going to haunt me until it was done.


Goodies...


- 4 great cards received from the family. D made one himself and also gave me a store bought one. One from Bean and another from Daddy. Very funny. Will share one day soon.

- Breakfast. This is nothing new, the hubs is good to me and makes us breakfast many times a week.

- I found out we're going to Sea World tomorrow. Yippee!!! The kids are very excited and it should be a blast.

- A great gift from my Mom. Thank you so much. I love you!


Now I'm going to go and enjoy my birthday. Bean's getting a bath, courtesy of daddy. D is reading his school book. And I have Mickey Mouse muted on the big screen. Time to paint the nails, apply the makeup, and get ready for a party.

Bring on the cake.

- NO BACKPACKS

- NO School Supplies to Purchase - this is a bonus for me and daddy.

- HALF DAYS every FRIDAY

- NO Homework - with the exception of reading 30 minutes a day.


I wish I went to this school when I was young(er). Speaking of being younger, tomorrow is my BIRTHDAY!!! Woo...Hooo!!!!!!!!

BIG 27 here I come!

Back to School

Today was D's first day of 3rd grade. Doesn't he look excited? Frightened is more like it.

D doesn't do well with the flash on cameras, theses are the first few shots we took. We had to break after each one so he could wipe his watery eyes dry. After telling him he didn't need to look directly at the flash, and adding his sister for distraction, we managed to get a couple of decent shots.

Bean is always ready for the camera. She was yelling, "Picture! Picture!" and wouldn't stop until I aimed, and snapped.

Here's the handsome 3rd grader, smiling and eyes wide open for the camera. He said he didn't want to go to school today, but 10 minutes before I was ready to walk out the door, he was standing in the hallway with his lunch box and water. "I'm ready", he said.

We're excited about his new school. Since D was in kindergarten he's been attending private schools. Today, he walked into a prep school that studies on the same curriculum as his past schools. And the best part, we don't have to pay for it anymore. :)

And no more spending 2-1/2 hours after school working on homework. Here, school ends a 2pm and they have a mandatory 1 hour study time where the kids work on what would've been their homework. This allows the teachers to spend time with each child and address his or her needs.

And lastly, SAY NO TO BACKPACKS! They do not allow any backpacks in the classroom. Why? Well, the school provides ALL the supplies and the children will only be carrying folders of completed work home.

This sounds too easy. We'll see.

Same Blog, New Look

I warned you guys that it was coming. :) The new blog design is here and pretty soon I'll be moving this blog content to another. One that doesn't include my business name in the URL.

Lyndsay over at Beautify My Blog did an awesome job! She was quick, super sweet, and she brought all my ideas to life, or to this blog. Many thanks to her.

Stick around. I still need to understand how to make the switch but once I do, I'll let everyone know where they can find me.

Boredom

Febreze Friends

My friends over at Febreze sent me this beautiful Home Collection set. It included Febreze Flameless Luminaries and a 4-piece set of coasters. Thank you Febreze!!!



I quickly unwrapped the package, not before taking a picture first of course, and set out the super cute coasters. We've been in search of coasters that don't include roosters or grapes in their design and these are perfect!



They all have different designs on them (or in them) but you can also pull out the card and replace it with your own picture. Cute!

Even the rubber band that was holding them all together was cute. :) See for yourself.



Sean say's I'm a marketers dream, but I think I just appreciate people making things pretty.
