Something New ~ What do you think?

I was in search of something to add to our Gift Baskets (not on site yet) that was different from a stuffed teddy bear or a duck. LOL! I thought these were super cute, customizable and great for a boy or a girl. What do you think?

I'm not sure if I'm going to offer them outside of the gift basket as they are extremely time consuming and I don't want to hike up the price of a stuffed animal just to cover my time.

We'll see. Either way, I think Bean approves. She is always testing out Mommy's new idea's. Even my 7 year old wanted one.

P.S. Giveaway starts Tomorrow!

Yum! Yum! Yummy!

Who can say no to a big pot of Jambalaya? I had to put the "diet" on the back burner for a meal so I could enjoy this one. Filled with rice, sausage, chicken, shrimp, herbs and spices! Oohhh it's so yummy! The hubs cooked tonight which has become somewhat of a rare event (sorry babes), and I couldn't help but share this simple dish with everyone.

It's easy peazy, just pick up some Jambalaya Mix or start from scratch and add whatever tickles your taste buds. This dish also taste great with tomatoes, onions and peppers, Oh my! With some bread on the side.

Happy Eats!

Now THIS is OCD!

The BabyLegs matching the shorts and the shirt that some how happen to match the Car Seat Strap Covers. I swear I didn't do this on purpose.

P.S. It seems like I can't get a photo of her without that darn thumb in her mouth.

Lazy Sunday

Saturday we went shopping and Sunday we did nothing. It was a nice weekend. "D" got a new bean bag chair with his gift cards from his b-day along with some other goodies. But I think the bean bag won the "favorite toy" award this weekend.

World's Ugliest Birthday Cake

What do you think? Do I win?

We celebrated "D's" 7th Birthday this past weekend and I decided to have a little fun with the cake. The party was Halloween themed and the cake was suppose to be black and orange but I had too much icing and not enough black food coloring so instead we had a purple and orange cake. 1st problem.

2nd problem. I had no idea WHAT I was doing or even how to go about doing it. But luckily, "D'' loved it and that was all that mattered. Who cares that I spent 3+ hours in the kitchen creating this monstrosity. :-/ On the up side, it tasted delicious and was much better then those $19.99 cake's from Wal-Mart. Barf!

I'm sorry, there's a WHAT in our hallway?

Here he (or she) is. This hidious Bark Scorpion is the reason why I slept horribly last night.

Right before bed, Max was barking at something in the hallway. Sean got up to see what it was and luckily he spotted it before stepping on it. After capturing it with a glass, we did some house searching to make sure there weren't anymore and then we went to the internet to make sure this ugly thing wasn't poisonous. It's not.

Unfortunately, the Bark Scorpion is the same color as our carpet which makes it very difficult to spot. He's just a little guy/gal, maybe an inch and a half stretched out but he still has one heck of a stinger.

We called housing (we live on a military post) and told them about the situation and they said they would come out to spray. Apparently scorpions like dark, warm places and when the temperature drops outside they move to the warmer area's, in this case, our house.

I'm not sure why this scorpion is still sitting on my kitchen counter. In a glass that will soon be sent to the local dump. *Sigh* Have I told you how much I love the desert? I didn't think so.

Is this Obsessive Compulsive?

As you know, the hubs and I had a mini getaway. It was the first time I was away from "Bean" overnight. My Mother-in-law was nice enough to come over and watch the little one's and the dog's for us.

The above picture, along with about 4 pages of notes, is what I left for her. I was just trying to make it easy but some people seem to think it's OCD. What do you think?

A great weekend...

...with an even better man.

It's 9:00am on Tuesday and my eyes are so heavy I feel like I have 2 dumbbells hanging from my eyelashes. I've been up since 6:30am, against my wishes of course but breakfast has to be made, dogs need to go out and kiddo's need to be dressed and rushed off to school.

The Hubs and I returned from our 1-1/2 day getaway yesterday around 3:00pm. I was exhausted and so was he but I think all and all we had a good time. The photo above is from our trip along the La Mesa Golf Course.

What you can't see (and thank your lucky star's for it), is the monkey suit I had to wear in order to even be allowed on the cart! Not even to play, just to ride. I came dressed in jeans and a nicer shirt with comfy shoes. And much to our surprise, you can't wear denim on the greens.

So into the Pro Shop we go. I come out looking like a wannabe pro golfer with zero style and almost the same skill. It was Annika brand so I'm sure you can already guess the price. Ridiculous! And I looked like an idiot.

So we get to hole 1 after hitting a few balls on the driving range and I'm ready to kick some golfer butt. However, this is the first time I ever actually had to aim for something and that didn't go so well.

By hole 8 I had lost 2 0r 3 balls, did a lot of throwing rather then swinging, a bit of cussing and some jumping up in down when I actually HIT the ball. I had 2 blisters on my hand, my blue plaid golf capri's were riding up somewhere they shouldn't have been and I was getting cold. "I quit" I said to my husband.

Fast Forward

That evening we went to the casino and had dinner and set off to win some money. We did pretty well and walked away having a good time and having a few more bucks then we did when we entered.

All and all, I enjoyed the alone time the hubs and I were able to share. It was nice to remember us as one again. When you have so much going on in your life (as we do), and most couples with kid's do, it's nice to go back to where it all started.

Sorry there aren't more photo's. I actually took our camera but it never left my bag. This one was captured with our phone. One of the few photo's we took this past weekend.

The hubs and I haven't been on a romantic getaway since....NEVER! No honeymoon, no overnight stay's without the kids, nothing. Ok, ok, we did have a "wedding night" but I was pregger's so we weren't alone and I couldn't drink, so it doesn't count. :-)

Win a Bedroom Set!

Janice and Susan over at 5 Minutes for Mom are giving away a bedroom set, in order to be considered they ask that we share a picture of our own sleeping angel. If I were to win, I would love the Lily Rose Set from Home & Bedroom Furniture.

So here it is, my sweet little angel sleeping. "I surrender", she peacefully say's. And her shirt reads, "Nothing's Wrong, I'm Just Testing You." I swore that shirt was a curse and thank goodness she quickly grew out of it.

It was a very hard choice to pick just one photo. And after reminiscing, and trying to convince myself that I really don't want another child, (or could afford another one) I chose this darling photo. A true peek into "Bean's" personality.

Say Please, please!

Whenever we ask Bean to say "please", she just laughs. And she get's us every time. How can you say no to that adorable giggle.

Soaring through the Clouds

Our trip "down the hill" to visit family, included quite a bit of cloud coverage. "D" was very impressed but "Bean" could care less.
