Pumpkin Patch Adventure

Carroll Farms Pumpkin Patch in Ozark, AL. It’s about 30 minutes from Enterprise and we went there on a school field trip. On NOVEMBER 1ST! We were rained out last week so we were rescheduled for today. It was great except for one key part, there were NO pumpkins. Ok, ok, I can’t say there weren’t any pumpkins, there just weren’t any bigger then J. Bean’s head. Other then that small detail it was great! We started off finding our way through a 3 acre corn maze. Dorian, Jordan and I came in 4th, 5th and 6th out of about 100 people. GO US! Then they read a Halloween story to the kids and let them explore the petting zoo. After that the boy’s (Dorian’s class is all boy’s, 7 total) went over to help make a scarecrow. Then they learned all about farm animals and what kind of products we can find at the grocery store from these animals. Dorian kept yelling out BEEF! BEEF! BEEF! That lesson was taught by the lovely lady scarecrow that Jordan is pictured with. Then Dorian went over and played on a playground full of corn. Wish we had that when I was younger. Now instead of him coming home with shoes full of sand, he came home with pockets full of corn. And last but...well actually this is the least exciting part of the whole day, we jumped on a hay ride and went over to the not so glorious pumpkin patch. As I am sure some of you can tell, there are no pictures of the actual pumpkin patch. Believe me, it wasn't worth turning my camera on, taking the lense cap off and snapping a photo. I just couldn't do it, sorry. But the kiddo's had fun and that's all that matters. J. Bean finally clunked out on our way home but she made sure she didn't miss a bit of that pumpkin patch while we were there. And unfortunately, Daddy was at work during this but hopefully I got enough photo's to make him feel like he was there.

Awesome pics! I love the one of the Scarecrow (who really looks like the Scarecrow from the Wizard of OZ, by the way) holding Jordan. And the closeup shot of Dorian in the corn-great picture!
Looks like you had fun- even if it was a Pumpkin Patch fieldtrip in Nov. with NO pumpkins!!! :)
