I'm Back....

I called my neuro yesterday and spoke with Nurse Mary. She's cool, she always ask's "What do you like to do for fun?". The first two times she caught me off guard and I said boring things like reading and shopping. Next time I see her, I'll be ready! I'm thinking... sky diving and naked surfing.

Anyway, I called to tell them that I don't know the "rules" to follow when it comes to symptoms, flare-ups, whatever. Do I call? Do I not call? Do I wait until it's debilitating or extrememly painful or annoying to call?

She told me that they definitely want to know about these kinds of things (like the now 60 hours straight of numbess on my face), and if it's still there in the morning (this morning) then I would need to call back and come in.

I'm stalling.

Sarah,

Man it sucks your face is still numb. Don't forget Dr. Sal is still taking appointments.....Naked surfing and skydiving are definitely admirable pursuits, but just make sure you take pictures!! LOL! Seriously, I hate hearing that your symptoms are kicking up. maybe you're going through an inflamed period and just need some steroids. Have you done a course of those yet? I've only done them twice, but numbness is something they always worked on; for me anyway. Here's hoping this shit dies down in a hurry.

I remember about Dr. Sal. I'm still not sure if I want to go that far yet. Not as in distance but as in a medical procedure. :) I guess I'm not that desperate yet.

I haven't had any steroids yet and I think I'm going to try and avoid them for as long as possible. They scare me. LOL!

Sarah,
Do they have you on any pain meds? I have already been on several for 15 years for what they thought was painful peripheral neuropathy (turns out a part of my MS). Neurontin 400mg is not "mind-numbing" and has helped with my numbness around my nose/upperlip/chin which somes and goes. I just thought it was a part of my weirdness (not so..MS, Again in Forrest Gump talk). No pain meds, no gain
Love,
