Recipe for Destruction...or Playdough

Thank you to the wonderful woman over at Baby House for letting me share this recipe with my readers.

It's the World's Best and Easiest Playdough Recipe.
Make some and give it to your sister/brother to pay them back for that 100-piece paint set they bought your child for Christmas. Or, you and you little one(s) can just have a playdough party on the kitchen floor. That's what we did! This recipe really is simple and fun, and it's a great way to teach your children measurements.

Cooked Playdough

You will need:

2 cups of plain flour
1 cup salt
2 tablespoons of oil (it didn't say what type so I used vegetable)
4 tablespoons of cream of tartar
2 cups of water
Food colouring
Saucepan
Wooden spoon

What to do:

Mix dry ingredients in the saucepan. Mix in oil, water and food colouring. Cook for 2-5 minutes over medium heat, stirring constantly. The playdough is ready when it leaves the sides of the pan.

This playdough will keep in an air tight container for a couple of months, dependent on your climate. Keep it in the fridge if you are in a hot climate.

Enjoy!

I love making playdough - kneading the warm, soft dough right out of the pan is so lovely. I have to force myself to let me daughter mix some ;+) We keep ours in the fridge for months.
